Kazakhstan approves list of professions with which it will be easier to get residence permits

ASTANA. Feb 22 (Interfax) - The Kazakh Labor and Social Protection Ministry has approved a list of in-demand professions in the spheres of science, healthcare, industry and IT with which foreigners can receive residence permits in Kazakhstan under facilitated procedures, the ministry's press service said.

The decree On the Approval of the List of In-Demand Professions for the Issuance to Foreigners of Permanent Residence Permits in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Rules for Their Formation will take effect on February 28, 2023.

The list includes 21 in-demand professions in various spheres, including healthcare, IT, and science. In particular, they include neurosurgeons, hematologists, oncologists, neonatologists, and endocrinologists.

The list also includes research engineers in non-organic and organic substances technology, technical engineers in pharmacy, aviation engineers, engineers in space system software, engineers in the sphere of introduction of new technologies, laser equipment engineers, research engineers in the technology of production of cellulose, paper, printing and fiber, medical engineers and radiochemists, medical engineers and physicists, textile materials classifiers, bacteriologists, IT infrastructure architects, software architects, and job training instructors (engineering).

"Foreigners who have in-demand professions can receive in interior affairs agencies residence permits using facilitated procedures without confirming their solvency," the press release said.

Residence permits will be issued for ten years or for the period in which a foreigner's passport is valid.
