Russian regulator clears Almira LLC to buy KFC restaurants from AmRest

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has approved a deal for Almira LLC to buy the business of AmRest business in Russia, which manages KFC restaurants, the service said.

AmRest, which manages 214 KFC restaurants in Russia, said in December that it had agreed to sell the business for 100 million euros to Almira LLC. Details about the company were not given.

The FAS did not provide any details about the company in its message.

The deal also requires the consent of Yum! Brands Inc. , which owns the KFC brand.

AmRest is a restaurant holding that develops its own restaurants and manages well known restaurant brands in Europe and China. The holding has been operating in Russia since 2007, developing the KFC franchise.
