Novak: Russia to complete assessment of damage by foreign Sakhalin-2 project participants soon

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The Russian authorities are still completing an assessment of damage to the Sakhalin-2 project, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

He also said that so far there were had been no applications to buy Shell's (SPB: RDS.A) stake in the project.

"So far there have been no requests, but there is still enough time. The reorganization procedures are carrying on. When they are completed, then certain applications will probably appear," he said.

Novak said the assessment of damage [caused by foreign shareholders] had not yet been completed.

"We are still finalizing the position of the federal authorities, taking into account the inspections that have been done. I think the assessment will be done in the near future," Novak said.
