Ukrainian PM discusses economic cooperation with Canadian FM

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal discussed economic cooperation and support of Ukraine's recovery with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly.

Since the start of the crisis, the Canadian government "has undertaken a number of progressive steps in supporting Ukraine, which have served as a model for other countries," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account.

"I've thanked Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly personally during our meeting in Kiev," he said.

The parties discussed a broad range of aspects of cooperation, including that in the economy, reconstruction, etc., he said.

"We addressed the reconstruction of the energy sector and the people's housing. I am grateful to our Canadian partners for their attention to demining, which is a fundamental element of recovery. Ms. Joly announced another C$7.5 million for those needs," Shmygal said.
