Minsk says Lithuania terminates cooperation to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow through border

MINSK. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Lithuania has terminated its cooperation with Belarus in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of vehicles through the border, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Thursday.

"The Lithuanian side reports that the State Border Guard Service at the Interior Ministry of Lithuania is unilaterally terminating cooperation with the customs and border services of Belarus intended to ensure the uninterrupted traffic flow through the border and to increase the throughput capacity of border crossings for vehicles," it said.

"The notification did not provide any reasons for the termination of this interaction," it said.

Such cooperation between the Belarusian and Lithuanian border services was regulated by a document signed by the two countries on November 4, 2019.
