Death rate in Russia down 22% in 2022 - Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The death rate in Russia declined by 22% in 2022 from 2021, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said on Wednesday.

"The death rate has declined by 22% from 2021," Golikova said at a meeting on the opening of new healthcare facilities in some regions.

Life expectancy in 2022 increased by 2.5 years to 72.6 years, she said.

"In 2023, we will finally go back to the pre-pandemic period," she said.
