OSCE chairperson-in-office promises support for Moldova in settling Transdniestrian conflict

CHISINAU. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is fully aware of the current problems faced by Moldova and the North Macedonian presidency backs the country in resolving these problems, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Bujar Osmani said following his visit to Chisinau.

Osmani's visit was aimed at supporting a comprehensive and lasting political settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict, bolstering Moldova's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders with a special status for Transdniestria, an OSCE statement said.

During his meetings with the Moldovan leadership and representatives of the Transdniestrian administration, Osmani reaffirmed "the importance of the 5+2 talks and maintaining dialogue [between Chisinau and Tiraspol]."
