Share of foreign participation in overall charter capital of Russian banks declines to 8.97% as at Jan 1, 2023, underwriters to 9.6% - Central Bank

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The amount of participation of foreign capital in the overall charter capital of Russian banks licensed to conduct banking operations had declined to 8.97% as at January 1, 2023, compared to 10.7% as at January 1, 2022, the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) said in a statement.

The indicator had also decreased in the overall charter capital of insurance organizations from 10% to 9.58% compared to the data as at January 1, 2022.

Foreign investments, whose indicator is used to determine the amount of participation in the overall charter capital of credit institutions, totaled 273.15 billion rubles, and their overall charter capital totaled three trillion rubles.

Foreign investments in the overall charter capital of insurance companies totaled 21.8 billion rubles, and their overall charter capital totaled 227.4 billion rubles.
