Ukraine's merchandise trade deficit widened 130% to $11.125 bln in 2022 - Statistics Service

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine's merchandise trade deficit widened 130% to $11.125 billion in 2022, from $4.711 billion in 2021, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the State Statistics Committee.

Exports fell 35.1% to $44.149 billion and imports were down 24.1% to $55.274 billion.

Seasonally adjusted exports declined by 2.4% in December compared with November 2023 to $3.376 billion, while imports grew 9.8% to $5.347 billion.

There were seasonally adjusted trade deficits of $1.971 billion in December and $1.409 billion in November.

The export-import coverage ratio was 0.80 in 2022, compared with 0.93 in 2021.

Ukraine traded with 233 countries.
