Russia registers 13,436 new cases of Covid-19, 36 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 13,436 new cases of Covid-19, which is the highest number since mid-October 2022, and 36 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

Russia "has recorded 13,436 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,548 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 6.9% from the day before," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations increased in 40 Russian constituent territories, declined in 40, and remained unchanged in five.

The daily morbidity has grown by 3,610 cases from 9,826 recorded on Tuesday. This is the highest number since October 14, 2022, when Russia saw over 14,700 infections.

Thirty-six patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 35 the day before.

"Another 12,071 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, up 15.8% from February 14," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 22,106,985 of Covid-19, including 395,652 deaths and 21,461,669 recoveries.
