Ukraine planning to draw over $2 bln from U.S., World Bank, other donors in Feb

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine is planning to draw over $2 billion from the United States, the World Bank and other donors in February, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

"I'd like to thank our international partners for the continuous financial assistance. We received $4.2 billion from the EU and the U.S. in January. This month, we are planning to draw over $2 billion extra from the United States, the World Bank and other donors. We need the money to finance salaries, pensions, education and healthcare," the Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Tuesday.

He also said that negotiations had begun with the IMF mission in Warsaw to discuss the drafting and revision of the Monitoring Program.

"This is a path to the next stage of cooperation with the Fund. We are hoping to make progress in the negotiating process," Shmygal said.
