Head of Kazakhstan's Pavlodarenergo dismissed after heat supply disruptions

ASTANA. Feb 13 (Interfax) - The head of Kazakhstan's Pavlodarenergo power company has been dismissed following heat supply disruptions.

Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar visited the Ekibastuz thermal power plant on Saturday to look at see what progress had been made with restoring heat supply to consumers.

Sklyar said disruptions to the city's heat supply should have been resolved by the owner of the thermal plant alone without involving the government agencies. He recommended that CAPEC JSC co-owner Sergey Kan dismiss Pavlodarenergo general director Vadim Lesin.

"We will not allow a sharp increase in heat and power supply charges in Ekibastuz. Scheduled repairs at the end of the heating season will be done," Sklyar said.

He set a two-day deadline for the owner of the thermal power plant to increase heating temperatures by maintaining proper steam levels and speed up repairs of the heating networks.
