Ukrainian Economy Ministry, JP Morgan conclude memorandum of understanding

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Economy Ministry and the U.S. banking holding JP Morgan have concluded a memorandum of understanding, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"At a meeting with representatives of JP Morgan, I told them about the most promising areas - energy, agriculture, natural resources, digital technologies and infrastructure restoration," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account.

Ukraine needs investment for recovery and post-crisis growth, Shmygal said. To this end, the Ukrainian government has set up a special office called UkraineInvest, which is currently overseeing eight large projects worth in total $1.35 billion, he said.

The government is also working on insuring military risks and securing investment guarantees, he said.

"Based on the meeting outcomes, the Economy Ministry and JP Morgan concluded a memorandum of understanding. I am sure this will help to make our cooperation deeper on the path toward Ukraine's major recovery," Shmygal said.
