Gas hub will be set up in Turkey, but recent quake may postpone this project - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The recent powerful earthquake in Turkey may postpone the establishment of a gas hub in the country, but this project will be implemented nonetheless, the Kremlin said.
"Of course, it [the gas hub project] cannot be a priority for Turkey right now. We treat it with understanding. Consequently, there may be some postponement," Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday when asked whether the earthquake in Turkey may affect this project.
"We have no doubt that Turkey will cope with this trouble, will provide all necessary assistance to those affected, and will start to rebuild ruined cities," Peskov said.
"Therefore, yes, this project [gas hub] may be postponed a little, but, it will not impact the implementation of the plans," he said.
