Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO and J. P. Morgan reps discuss cooperation

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Alexei Chernyshov and representatives of J.P. Morgan have discussed cooperation in projects to increase hydrocarbon production and in renewable energy.

"During the meeting, we invited J.P. Morgan to consider cooperation opportunities to implement projects to increase production and more efficient transportation and storage of hydrocarbons, as well as in the field of renewable energy," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Chernyshov as saying in a social media post on Wednesday evening.

The issue of attracting investments in Ukraine's energy sector should be resolved without waiting for the end of the crisis, he said.

"The visit of representatives of the world-class financial institution to Kiev is extremely important not only in terms of establishing cooperation but also as an expression of support for Ukraine, which is very important," Chernyshov said.

The J.P. Morgan delegation to Ukraine consisted of Global Head of Alternatives - Asset Management Anton Pil, Head of Debt Capital Markets for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Stefan Weiler, and Global Head of Lending, Deposits & Custody, JPM Wealth Workplace Director General Vince La Padula.
