Zelensky nominates Malyuk for SBU chief, PM nominates Klimenko for Ukrainian interior minister

MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has asked the Verkhovna Rada to appoint Vasily Malyuk as head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The relevant draft decree was registered in the parliament on Monday, Ukrainian media said.

Malyuk currently holds the post of acting SBU chief.

The Verkhovna Rada also registered Prime Minister Denis Shmygal's representation nominating Igor Klimenko for the post of Ukrainian interior minister.

"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmygal's representation nominating Klimenko for interior minister," Ukrainian media outlets quoted the government's representative to the parliament Taras Melnichuk as saying in a social media post.
