Ukrainian Border Service updates border crossing statistics
MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax) - The net outflow of people from Ukraine declined to 9,000 this week from 17,000 a week before, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the State Border Service's information available on social media.
The number of people who departed Ukraine between January 28 and February 3 declined to 233,000 from 244,000, and the number of those entering Ukraine to 224,000 from 227,000, the service said.
The number of cars that crossed Ukraine's western borders in this period declined to 119,000 from 123,000, while the number of vehicles cleared to carry humanitarian aid increased to 506 from 504.
According to the United Nations Refugee Agency information as of January 31, a total of 18.159 million people have departed Ukraine since the start of the crisis, with 9.329 million of these having crossed into Poland, 2.852 million Russia (this figure has not been updated since October 3, 2022), 2.151 million Hungary, 1.904 million Romania, 1.128 million Slovakia, over 755,000 Moldova, and about 16,700 Belarus.
At the same time, according to the UN, 9.952 million people entered Ukraine between February 28, 2022 and January 31, 2023, exclusive of those who arrived from Hungary, Russia, and Belarus.
