EU to send extra 2,400 generators to Ukraine - von der Leyen

MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - The European Union will provide 2,400 additional generators and 35 million LED lamps to Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.

"We are delivering equipment to keep the Ukrainian grid functioning and we are making sure that electricity is flowing through the grid. So it is very hands-on what we do, very practical. Today for example, I can announce that we are providing 2,400 additional generators, they come on top of the 3,000 already delivered," Ukrainian media quoted von der Leyen as saying in a statement at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev.

Furthermore, the EU will provide 35 million LED light bulbs, which is more than the earlier announced batch of 30 million, she said.
