Kazakhstan to commission 14 chemical enterprises worth 58 bln tenge to in 2023

ALMATY. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan will commission 14 chemical production projects costing 58.1 billion tenge in 2023, the press service of the Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry said in a press release.

These projects will include plants that will produce emulsion explosives, solvents, gelatin and chemicals for the metallurgical industry.

The new projects will create 1,040 jobs, according to the press release.

In the future, Kazakhstan will carry out 98 investment projects for a total value of about 6 trillion tenge in the chemical industry, creating 13,900 permanent jobs. These will include 16 projects in the Zhambyl region to launch the production of mineral fertilizers and inorganic chemicals alkaline chlorine, calcium chloride, soda ash; and 13 projects in the Mangistau region for the production of green hydrogen, ammonia, urea and bioprotein.

"Most of the planned projects are aimed to produce basic chemical products, including ammonia, caustic and soda ash," the press release says.
