German JV with Gazprom dismisses Russian co-director; replacement comes from economic ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Gascade, a German gas-transmission joint venture with Gazprom , has dismissed the Russian co-director, and has replaced him with an official from Germany's economic ministry, which is responsible for confiscating Gazprom's assets, the company said in a statement.

Ulrich Benterbusch, who is from Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, has replaced Igor Uspensky as managing director of Gascade, the company said. Uspensky had held the post since 2016.

The JV between Gazprom and Wintershall Dea has traditionally had two managing directors that has reflected the composition of the company's shareholders.
