Daily Covid-19 morbidity tops 9,200 in Russia first time since Oct 2022 - HQ
MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Daily Covid-19 morbidity has topped 9,200 in Russia for the first time since late October 2022, and 40 patients have died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.
Russia "has recorded 9,287 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,058 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 9.5% from the day before," the headquarters said.
According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations has grown in 35 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 39, and has remained unchanged in 11.
The daily morbidity has grown by 783 cases from 8,504 reported on Wednesday. This is the highest daily morbidity seen since October 22, 2022, when Russia saw over 9,300 cases of Covid-19. Russia has been observing the largest number of daily infections since October 2022 for two consecutive days.
Forty patients died from Covid-19 over the day, versus 41 the day before.
"Another 6,021 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 10.5% from February 1," the headquarters said.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 21,967,983 cases of Covid-19, including 395,148 deaths and 21,363,029 recoveries.
