Five vessels to deliver Ukrainian food exports to China, Egypt, Turkey, Spain, Portugal

NEW YORK, UN. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Five bulkers carrying corn, wheat and soya beans departed the Ukrainian ports on Wednesday, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC) said.

"On February 1, five vessels left Ukrainian ports carrying a total of 216,719 metric tonnes of grain and other food stuff under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," it said.

In particular, the Portugal-bound Manna vessel is carrying 51,405 tonnes of corn, the Donna Judi is carrying 33,000 tonnes of wheat to Spain, and the Barra is heading to Turkey with 41,000 tonnes of wheat on board.

The Ruler is carrying 65,114 tonnes of corn to China and the Lolo Gate is carrying 16,500 tonnes of wheat and 9,700 tonnes of soya beans to Egypt.

Another four bulkers transited the maritime humanitarian corridor on Wednesday on their way to the Ukrainian ports.

According to the JCC, 87 applications for participation in the initiative have been submitted.

"As of February 1, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 19,288,350 metric tonnes. A total of 1,390 voyages (696 inbound and 694 outbound) have been enabled so far," the center said.
