Ukrainian private medical chain to build rehabilitation center with support from U.S. DFC

MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian private clinic chain Dobrobut will build a rehabilitation center with support from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

DFC CEO Scott Nathan signed a letter of intent with Dobrobut at a meeting between Ukrainian businesspeople and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to Dobrobut's press release.

"Dobrobut has become the first private medical company in Ukraine to have received financial support from the DFC," the press release said, without specifying the volume of investment and the date by which the project is to be implemented.

As reported earlier, Dobrobut COO Vadim Shekman said in 2021 the company planned to build a major rehabilitation center.

Dobrobut is a leading private clinic chain in Ukraine with over 2,800 employees. It operates 17 healthcare centers in Kiev and the Kiev region, an emergency medical service, dental clinics, and pharmacies. Dobrobut centers provide 75 types of services to both children and adults. Dobrobut specialists perform over 7,000 surgeries a year.

Since the end of February 2022, Dobrobut's clinics have provided a substantial portion of medical services free of charge owing to cooperation between the Dobrobut Foundation and the international charity organizations Direct Relief International, Children of War Foundation, International Medical Corps, and University of Miami Global Institute.
