First Soyuz-2 rockets of the year sent to Baikonur

MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - A train loaded with stages of Soyuz-2 rockets to launch the Progress MS-23 resupply ship and the Soyuz MS-24 manned spaceship is headed to Baikonur, Roscosmos said on Wednesday.

"Progress Rocket and Space Center, a unit of the Roscosmos state corporation, has sent a train carrying stages of two Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicles and two payload fairings for the International Space Station launches to Baikonur Cosmodrome," Roscosmos said.

One rocket will launch the Progress MS-23 resupply ship in May, while the other will lift off the manned Soyuz MS-24 in September, it said.
