Twitch fined 4 mln rubles over failure to remove fakes about Russian special military operation - court
MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - The magistrates' court in Moscow's Tagansky district imposed an administrative fine of 4 million rubles on the U.S. video streaming service Twitch Interactive, an Amazon subsidiary, over failure to remove fake information discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, an Interfax correspondent reported from the courtroom.
"Find Twitch Interactive Inc. guilty of an administrative offense and impose a fine of 4 million rubles," the judge said.
The service was found guilty of failure to remove prohibited content, having refused to remove incorrect information about Russia's special operation in Ukraine, its form and methods, general mobilization, and civilian casualties in Ukraine.
In particular, the motion referred to the non-removal of an interview of former lawyer Mark Feigin (designated as a foreign agent in Russia) and former advisor to the Ukrainian Presidential Office Alexei Arestovich from the streaming service.
