Energy Community to broaden observation over Ukraine's energy market

MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The Energy Community Secretariat will enhance observation over the energy market and the corporate governance reform in Ukraine for the purpose of its further integration with Europe's energy sector.

"This will support the further integration of the Ukrainian energy sector with Europe and help build trust in a predictable and transparent governance in line with European practices," Ukrainian media said, citing the Energy Community website.

As the first step as part of this initiative, the Secretariat analyzed the Ukrainian State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate's December 17, 2022 resolution on the specifics of the operations of Ukraine's unified energy system in emergency situations and a draft law, which was approved in principle on January 12, 2023 and regulates the entrepreneurial activities of certain categories of legal entities and their associations during a transitional period, also affecting the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.
