Emergency blackouts introduced in 10 Ukrainian regions on Friday morning after consumption limits exceeded - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - The Ukrenergo power grid operator introduced emergency blackouts in ten regions of Ukraine on Friday morning after the power consumption limits were exceeded there.

Emergency power outages were introduced in the Kharkov, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Kiev, Cherkassy, Zhitomir, Volyn, Lvov, and Rovno regions, Ukrainian media said, citing Ukrenergo's daily updates published on Telegram.

Other regions of Ukraine may also encounter emergency blackouts during the day if they exceed their power consumption limits, Ukrenergo said.

Power consumption remains at the same level as it was before January 26, consequently the considerable capacity shortage persists in the energy system, the company said.
