Russia registers 7,164 new cases of Covid-19, 41 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 7,164 new cases of Covid-19 and 41 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

Russia "has recorded 7,164 new cases of Covid-19 and 939 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 3.5% from the day before," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations has grown in 35 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 42, and has remained unchanged in eight.

There has been an uptick in daily morbidity from 7,077 cases seen on Wednesday. Yet the morbidity level has been the highest since the year beginning for two consecutive days and kept at the level of late December 2022.

Forty-one patients died from Covid-19 over the day, versus 40 the day before.

"Another 4,876 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 7.5% from January 26," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 21,924,261 cases of Covid-19, including 394,902 deaths and 21,331,320 recoveries.
