Azerbaijani embassy to Iran attacked, security guard killed - media

BAKU. Jan 27 (Interfax) - An armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy to Iran was perpetrated on Friday, according to Azerbaijani media outlets.

They said the incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. local time.

"An Azerbaijani law enforcement officer in charge of embassy security died a heroic death while deterring the attack, and another officer was wounded," the media said.

According to the media, Azerbaijan has begun an urgent investigation of the incident.
