Russian Ambassador Antonov meets with new U.S. ambassador to Russia in Washington

WASHINGTON. Jan 24 (Interfax) - Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov met with new U.S. Ambassador in Moscow Lynne Tracy at the Russian embassy before her departure for Russia.

"Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov met with the new chief of the U.S. diplomatic mission in Moscow Lynne Tracy at the Russian Residence," a Russian embassy spokesperson told reporters.

Details of the meeting have not been provided.

According to earlier reports, new U.S. Ambassador to Russia Tracy is expected to arrive in Moscow in the coming days.

It was reported on December 21, 2022, that the U.S. Senate had confirmed Tracy as the new U.S. ambassador to Russia.

Tracy thus became the first female U.S. ambassador to Russia.
