Covid-19 incidence rate up almost 22% in Russia over past week - HQ
MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - The Covid-19 incidence rate grew 21.9% in Russia over the past week, and the morbidity curve has been rising in 70 regions, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Monday.
"The Covid-19 incidence rate stood at 26.0 cases per 100,000 residents over the past week, up 21.9% from the week before. Morbidity has been growing in 70 Russian constituent territories," the headquarters said.
The incidence rate grew 40.5% on the previous week to 21.4 cases per 100,000 residents.
Meanwhile the rate of hospitalizations stood at 3.5 per 100,000 residents over the past week, down 5.4% from the week before. The number of hospitalizations has grown in 36 Russian constituent territories, including higher than Russia's average in 14.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 21,898,876 cases of Covid-19, including 394,735 deaths and 21,310,166 recoveries.
