New U.S. ambassador to arrive in Russia in coming days - Deputy FM Ryabkov
MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - New U.S. Ambassador Lynne Tracy will arrive in Russia shortly, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.
"In the coming days," Ryabkov told reporters.
Consultations on problems in Russian-U.S. relations may resume once the new U.S. ambassador arrives in Moscow, Ryabkov said.
"The ambassador will arrive, and it seems the discussion of this matter will continue with her, especially as we have noticed the public signals Washington has been sending at the level of official representatives, according to which one of her tasks will be to normalize the terms of operation of diplomatic missions," Ryabkov told reporters.
"We agree with raising the question this way. It is a different matter that the ways of normalization and improvement of the terms of embassies' functioning do not coincide sometimes, and there is a big difference between what is offered by us and the Americans," he said.
