Russian Commerce Chamber president proposes starting to use national currencies in transactions with Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Financial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia needs to be updated, including by creating conditions for a shift to transactions in their national currencies, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sergei Katyrin said, according to the chamber's website.

Speaking at a Turkmen-Russian business forum in Ashgabat, Katyrin emphasized the importance of simplifying entry procedures for entrepreneurs, also highlighting the need to create "a green corridor" for more rapid and mutually beneficial deliveries of the two countries' products.

The Turkmen-Russian business forum is taking place in Ashgabat on January 19-20. More than 300 representatives of Russian businesses and organizations are attending it.
