IAEA mission at Ukraine's Khmelnitsky NPP to be launched in coming days
MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - A mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is to start working at the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant (NPP) in the coming days, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
"The IAEA mission at the Khmelnitsky NPP should start working in the coming days," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a joint press conference with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi in Kiev on Wednesday.
The IAEA missions at the Rovno and Chernobyl NPPs were launched on January 16, and the agency's mission at the South Ukraine NPP began working on January 16.
Grossi, in turn, said that the agency's missions will be present at Ukraine's NPPs until the crisis is over and for a certain period of time afterwards.
"The missions arrived at the Ukrainian stations at the official request of the Ukrainian government. I think that the term of work will be quite long. There's a lot we need to do," he said.
