Ghana considers hosting logistics hub to store Ukrainian grain exports

MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Ghana plans to implement new logistics projects, which will help increase agricultural exports from Ukraine and make them more predictable.

Steps to broaden agricultural cooperation and trade relations were discussed by Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Nikolai Solsky and Ghana's Minister of Food and Agriculture Owusu Afriyie Akot, Ukrainian media said, citing the website of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

The parties discussed a potential joint project, i.e. a logistics hub that will be able to store food products, including grain, and will help stabilize food prices in the world, the Ukrainian ministry said.

Ghana is the third country visited by a delegation of the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry as part of its official trip to African countries, every one of which voiced a wish to host a logistics hub to store Ukrainian grain exports, the ministry said. The delegation earlier visited Senegal and Nigeria, which also expressed their interest in setting up such hubs in their territory.
