Magnit appoints former Delivery Club CEO as director of e-commerce

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - PJSC Magnit has appointed Guvenc Donmez, former Delivery Club CEO, as its director of e-commerce, the Russian retailer said in a statement.

According to Magnit, Donmez will be responsible for forming a strategy for digital sales channels, scaling digital sales channels, as well as forming and developing the e-commerce infrastructure, and other areas.

Donmez will begin work after obtaining the necessary work authorization, the company said.

Prior to joining Magnit, Donmez was CEO of Delivery Club and head of foodtech at O2O Holding [which included Delivery Club until September 2022]. Donmez was also formerly CEO of DP Eurasia N.V., a franchisee of Domino's Pizza.

Magnit is currently implementing a number of its own and partners' online delivery projects, such as express delivery, regular delivery, an online pharmacy, cosmetics delivery, and partnerships.

Magnit's e-commerce services include 11,300 brick-and-mortar stores and 25 dark stores in 66 regions and 494 settlements, with 70% of the segment's current revenue generated outside Moscow and St. Petersburg. Express delivery is the largest and fastest growing segment.
