Kazatomprom appoints new CFO

ALMATY. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Kazatomprom has announced changes to its senior management team.

Ruslan Beketayev has been appointed as chief financial officer effective from January 11, 2023, Kazakhstan's national atomic company said in a press release.

Beketayev was previously deputy CEO at Eurasian Development Bank and served as Kazakh deputy finance minister for six years.

Alisher Taizhanov, currently the director of Kazatomprom's sales support department, has been appointed as a chief commercial officer effective from January 11, 2023.

Beketayev and Taizhanov are expected to also be appointed to Kazatomprom's management board subject to the internal and board of directors' approvals in accordance with the company's governance procedures, the press release says.

Kazatomprom's former CFO Kamila Syzdykova and former CCO Askar Batyrbayev resigned of their accord In December 2022.

Kazatomprom is one of the largest producers of uranium in the world. The company also processes rare metals, produces and sells beryllium and tantalum products. Kazatomprom is controlled by Kazakhstan's National Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
