Zelensky cancels Ukrainian citizenship of 13 clerics of Ukrainian Orthodox Church - media

MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has issued an order to cancel the Ukrainian citizenship of 13 clerics of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Ukrainian media said on Saturday.

The media said that the order, which was signed back on December 28, was not officially published as it contained personal data.

According to the media, Zelensky has cancelled the Ukrainian citizenship of Metropolitan Ionafan of Tulchin and Bratslav, whose residence was searched at the end of last year, as well as Tulchin diocese vicar Archbishop Sergiy of Ladyzhin.

By law, such clerics can eventually be deported.
