Timeframe for sale of Shell's unclaimed stake in Sakhalin-2 operator no longer limited - decree

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The timeframe for selling Shell's (SPB: RDS.A) unclaimed stake in Sakhalin Energy LLC, the new Russian operator of the Sakhalin-2 production sharing agreement project, is no longer limited.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Decree No. 982 on December 30, making changes to Decree No. 416 dated June 30 2022, "On the application of special economic measures in the fuel and energy sector in connection with the unfriendly actions of certain foreign states and international organizations."

The decree has been published on the official Internet portal for legal information.

If in the initial document the government was given four months to sell an unclaimed stake from the date of the decision to turn down the transfer of said stake, then there is now no reference to timeframe.
