Head of Zelensky's Office says president not yet thinking of seeking reelection, wants Zelensky to run for second term

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is not currently thinking about the future presidential elections or whether he will run for a second term as president of Ukraine, head of Zelensky's Office Andrei Yermak said.

"We are even not thinking about this issue [elections] for now," Ukrainian media quoted Yermak as saying.

When asked what he could tell people in the country who have already begun measuring various political ratings, Yermak said that "it is a false start".

"They started too early," he said.

Upon being asked whether Zelensky plans to seek reelection, Yermak said that the Office of the President is not even discussing this issue, but added that he would like Zelensky to run for a second term.

"We are not discussing this issue. But if you want to know my personal opinion, I think that yes. The country received the best president in 30 years. There are many other things that he can do for the country. My personal opinion is that he should run for a second term," Yermak said.
