Russian government extends preferential equipment imports to coal, ore production

MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) - Enterprises engaged in extraction of metal ores, coal and a number of other solid minerals will be able to import equipment and raw materials into Russia duty-free.

According to the government's press service, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a decree to expand the list of priority activities for which preferential imports of technological equipment, components, raw materials and supplies are possible.

The updated list includes extraction of coal, peat, metal ores, decorative and building stone, limestone, gypsum, chalk and shale, development of gravel and sand pits, provision of electricity, gas and steam, as well as air conditioning, the cabinet said.

"This measure will further support enterprises in important sectors of the economy," the government said.
