Some 15.5 mln tonnes of grain exported from Ukrainian ports to 38 countries since early Aug

MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Since early August and as of the end of December, 15.5 million tonnes of grain have been exported from Ukrainian ports to 38 countries, the Ukrainian media reported citing the press service for the Ukrainian State Border Service.

During this period, Ukrainian border guards inspected about 600 vessels involved in the grain initiative to export foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports, it said.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Ukrainian media with reference to the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure, the ports of Greater Odessa shipped 422,000 tonnes of agricultural products for export as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative on Monday and Tuesday.

"In particular, 11 ships that will deliver 422,000 tonnes of agricultural products for the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe have left the ports of Greater Odessa. The Alanda Star bulk carrier with 30,800 tonnes of wheat for Egypt and the Eurochampion tanker with 45,000 tonnes of oil for India are among them," the ministry said.

In general, since August 1, 605 ships have left the Greater Odessa ports, exporting 15.9 million tonnes of Ukrainian foodstuffs to Asia, Europe and Africa.
