Makfa may boost production 25% in 2023

CHELYABINSK. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Makfa, a leading Russian manufacturer of pasta products, flour and cereals, will produce 170,000 tonnes of pasta products in 2022, Makfa board member Valery Yurevich said in an interview with Interfax.

"We plan to boost production by 44,000 tonnes next year after launching new pasta lines," Yurevich said.

Makfa may thus increase the production of pasta products by 25% from the level expected in 2022.

In 2022, "our efforts were aimed at fulfilling the investment program," the worth of which is estimated at 4.6 billion rubles, Yurevich said.

"We have fully fulfilled the plan. A pasta mill called Ocrim to produce wheat of solid sorts, Fava and Buhler pasta lines, a cereal packaging line, a boiler were put into operation [...] The only thing left is to put into operation a logistical complex, the company's flagship project. It's a robotic warehouse logistics facility in the food industry, one of the largest in South Urals. Its total area is some 12,000 square meters, and it has a capacity of 27,000 pallet positions," Yurevich said.

"After the facility is put into operation, the capacity of Makfa's warehouses will double and we can ensure smoother operation of production lines as the product volume necessary for the market can be kept in reserve," he said.

The company plans to develop a private trademark and plans to increase its share on foreign ' markets in the coming years, Yurevich said.
