Gazprom's Kirinskoye field reaches production rate of 9.3 mcm per day

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Gazprom's Kirinskoye gas condensate field launched nine years ago on the Sakhalin shelf has reached a new level of production this quarter, Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk General Director Valery Guryanov said.

"Summer and fall, while the weather and field operating conditions allowed, the company worked to continue infrastructure development and modification of the Kirinskoye field. This has already yielded significant results. We reached a record high for daily production in October, approaching figures of 9.3 million cubic meters of gas," Guryanov said.

Gas production at the Kirinskoye field totaled 1.2 mcm in 2021 and 0.782 mcm in 2020.

"The capacity has been created to further increase production figures. The field has not hit a technological ceiling thanks to this, and potential for growth remains even without taking into account prospective technical upgrades. We are working according to approved schedules and supply plans. They are arranged based on requests from consumers and are aimed at fully providing residents of the Far East with energy resources," Guryanov said in an interview published on the company's website.

Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in 2022 "has come up against a situation of global reformatting of many relationships: supply chains, contracts with contractors and service companies, and a number of technological limitations," he said.

"But there is nothing that we can't deal with if we work as a team. I want to say thank you to the specialists of our production division and colleagues from Gazprom's core departments. The company has overcome most of them with dignity. We have gone beyond the limits of the customary and established paradigm and discovered a lot of new things. Domestic companies have entered niches that were previously occupied by international enterprises. They provide services to a high standard to service equipment and supply expendables and fuel and lubricants. Our information technology specialists are now engaged in introducing domestic IT solutions. The main thought that can be formulated at the end of 2022 is that there are people, professionals with a great deal of experience in the country, as well as a resource base for their work. And it isn't important under such circumstances whether the company that is drilling or automating production processes has its name written in the Roman alphabet or in Cyrillic. Specialists are doing the work, not brands," Guryanov said.

Kirinskoye gas condensate field is located on the Sakhalin shelf in the Sea of Okhotsk 28 kilometers from the shore at a depth of 90 meters. It is the first field in Russia where production is carried out from an underwater production complex. The planned production plateau is 5.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
