Minsk could serve again as negotiating ground for Russia, Ukraine - Vatican's envy

MINSK. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Belarus once again could serve as a venue of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and facilitate peace in the region, Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus Archbishop Ante Jozic said on the STV television channel on Sunday.

"I am sure Minsk could become a center of negotiations once again. I suppose there have been such steps at a high level. I'd like to emphasize that Belarus, the Vatican, and all those who want to be a forum should be open," Jozic said.

Both Belarus and the Vatican are concerned about establishing peace in Ukraine, and Minsk has earlier provided its territory as a negotiating forum and has certain experience in mediation activities, Jozic said.
