Ukrainian govt approves delivery of another 21,000 tonnes of grain to Africa, Asia as humanitarian aid

MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government decided to increase the amount of humanitarian aid for a number of countries of Africa and Asia by sending them another 21,000 tonnes of corn or wheat, with changing the delivery terms from CIF to FOB.

Ukrainian media reported citing government representative at the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk as saying on social media that the decision was made at a meeting on Friday.

The government adopted a resolution in November to authorize the allocation of 900 million hryvni to the Interior Ministry for the State Service for Emergency Situations to purchase in Ukraine up to 64,000 tonnes of corn or wheat and ship it to Sudan, Yemen, Kenya, and Nigeria. Apart from that, Ukraine committed to ship at least 125,000 tonnes of wheat and corn of Grade 3 or higher quality.

Hence, taking into account the December 23 resolution, said four countries should receive up to 210,000 tonnes of grain from Ukraine.
