European Commission to provide 66 mln euros for reconstruction of Ukrainian schools

MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - The European Commission has allocated 66 million euros for reconstructing damaged schools in Ukraine, European Commission Deputy Director General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations Katarina Mathernova said.

"European Commission has disbursed 66 million euros to the Ukrainian budget for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of schooling facilities," Ukrainian media quoted Mathernova as saying on her social account

As reported earlier, the European Commission and Ukraine signed an agreement on disbursing 100 million euros for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Ukrainian schools.

According to the media, over 2,800 educational institutions in Ukraine have been damaged to varying degrees.
