Russia delivers 81% of agricultural exports to friendly nations - Agroexport

MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Russia delivers 81% of its agricultural exports to friendly nations, the Russian Agriculture Ministry's Agroexport Center said during a seminar conducted at the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy.

"We initially saw where we had to go. To date, 81% of the total exports of agricultural products are delivered to friendly countries," the head of the center Dmitry Krasnov was quoted as saying in the statement following the event.

Russian agrarian exports began to develop systematically relatively recently, he said, with the beginning of the "Agricultural exports" federal project.

"Nevertheless, we have already achieved significant results: in 2022, the volume of deliveries will exceed $40 billion, which is almost twice as much as in 2017. One of the factors of success was the correct determination of priority directions - these are, first of all, the markets of Asia, the Persian Gulf and Africa," he said.

The current system of support for agricultural exports in Russia covers all stages of their life cycle - from creation of new products to their promotion in foreign markets, Vitaly Nagalin, head of Agroexport's sectoral development department, was cited as saying in the statement. Agroexport develops methodological materials on current state programs on a permanent basis and in 2023 plans to create a marketplace of support for exporters, which will collect both federal and regional support measures for Russian farmers.
