Ukraine exports nearly 36 mln tonnes of agricultural products since end of February

MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Ukraine has exported 35.8 million tonnes of grain, legumes, oilseeds, and derived products to foreign markets since the end of February, Ukrainian media said on Wednesday, citing the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Ukraine's agricultural exports in the first half of December 2022 stood at 3.6 million tonnes, which is 800,000 tonnes, or 29%, more than in the first half of November, the ministry said. They included 1.55 million tonnes of corn (which is almost twice as many as on November 1-15), while wheat exports remained at the level of the first half of last month - at 815,000 tonnes.

Sunflower seed exports grew by 24% to 230,000 tonnes on December 1-15 month-on-month, the export of soybeans increased by 20% to 230,000 tonnes, and rapeseed exports were up by 6% to 194,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, the period from December 1 to 15 saw a 1% decline in sunflower oil exports to 303,000 tonnes, the export of all kinds of crop meal dropped by 16% to 146,000 tonnes, while soybean oil exports stayed at the level of 9,900 tonnes.

According to ministry data, corn accounted for 43.3% of all of Ukraine's agricultural exports in the first half of December, wheat for 22.7%, sunflower oil for 8.4%, soybeans for 6.6%, rapeseed for 6.5%, sunflower seed for 6.4%, crop meal for 4%, barley for 2.7%, and soybean oil for 0.3%.

As reported, the country shipped 5.9 million tonnes of agricultural products in November 2022, 6.9 million tonnes in October, 6.9 million tonnes in September, 4.6 million tonnes in August, 3 million tonnes in July, 2.7 million tonnes in June, 1.74 million tonnes in May, 960,000 tonnes in April, and 333,000 tonnes in March.

Before February 2022, Ukraine exported an average of 5-6 million tonnes of agricultural products every month, mainly via its maritime infrastructure in the Black Sea.
