Avtovaz to produce Lada vehicles at Nissan facility in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Avtovaz will begin producing vehicles under the Lada brand at the Nissan factory in St. Petersburg, Nissan Manufacturing Russia LLC, whose ownership was transferred to Russia by the Japanese concern following its departure from the local market, Avtovaz CEO Maxim Sokolov said.

"They [vehicles] will be produced under the Lada brand in those segments and classes of vehicles that won't cannibalize or compete with that product range currently being produced by the Volga auto plant. We're in the final stages [of talks] with our partners," Sokolov told journalists on Wednesday.
